Getting ready for your first season with Southern Tier Football Officials? New officials must purchase the New York State Association of Certified Football Officials (NYSACFO) approved shirts—not generic football officiating shirts.

Officials should have both:

• A short-sleeve NYSACFO-approved shirt
• A long-sleeve NYSACFO-approved shirt

Approved shirts and other officiating equipment are available from:

• Ump-Attire — NYSACFO collection
• Purchase Officials Supplies — NYSACFO gear
• Fifth Region Officials Supplies

When ordering, make sure each shirt is specifically identified as a New York or NYSACFO football officials shirt. Please check with an STFO instructor before purchasing to confirm the correct stripe width, logo, and other current uniform requirements.

Officials will also need:

• Black officiating pants
• Black officiating shorts, which may be worn for youth games
• Black officiating shoes
• Black belt
• Approved hat
• Finger whistle or whistle with a lanyard
• Watch
• Penalty flags
• Blue and white bean bags
• Down indicator
• Chain clip
• Game card
• Pencils

You may not need to buy everything new. Ask at an STFO meeting whether experienced members have gently used uniforms or equipment available.
